Why Choose a Natural Shampoo Bar?

Good for your hair, good for your pocket and great for the planet. Our natural shampoo bars are 100% sulphate free, additive free, palm oil free, cruelty free and plastic free. They're suitable for vegans and made entirely from natural ingredients. Each bar lasts longer than an average bottle of liquid shampoo because we don't add water so a little goes a very long way.

Our bars were developed in the UK by our in-house chemists in partnership with external safety consultants and a hairdressing trainer. They're manufactured in small, waste-free batches in the beautiful market town of Malton, Yorkshire. By choosing a shampoo bar, you're helping to reduce the 36 million plastic bottles used every day in the UK and plastic makes up 80% of beach waste worldwide.

All our packaging is plastic free, either fully recyclable cardboard or made from plant-derived materials. You can also choose to receive your bars completely packaging-free.

How to Use Your Shampoo Bar

Build a gentle lather between your hands, then apply to wet hair and scalp as you would a liquid shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed. Use only a small amount; these bars are water free and highly concentrated.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a natural shampoo bar last?

Each 55g bar typically lasts as long as two to three bottles of liquid shampoo. Because our bars are highly concentrated and water-free, you only need a small amount per wash, making them excellent value as well as better for the planet.

Are your shampoo bars suitable for sensitive scalps?

Yes — our fragrance-free formulation is specifically designed for sensitive scalps. All our bars are free from SLS, SLES, sulphates, synthetic additives and palm oil, making them much gentler and more sustainable than most commercial shampoos.

Can I use a shampoo bar in a hard water area?

Yes, though you may need to rinse more thoroughly. A final rinse with diluted cider vinegar (up to 10%), lemon juice or citric acid crystals dissolved in water can help remove any residue and leave hair feeling clean and shiny. See our full switching guide for more tips.

Are your shampoo bars vegan?

Yes — all our shampoo bars are 100% vegan and cruelty free. They contain no animal-derived ingredients and are not tested on animals.

Is there an adjustment period when switching to a shampoo bar?

Some people experience a short adjustment period of 1–4 weeks as their scalp recalibrates after years of detergent-based shampoos. This is completely normal and temporary. Our switching guide explains what to expect and how to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Do you offer a subscription for shampoo bars?

Yes — you can receive your shampoo bars as part of our Sudscription service. You can add, amend or pause your plan at any time after 3 payments have been made. Manage your subscription here.

DELIVERY INFORMATION

We will turn your Standard Class Post order around within two working days. Thereafter for Standard Royal Mail Tracked delivery, Royal Mail aim to deliver in 48 hours. The cost of this service is currently £3.50 with free postage available for orders over £40 and for regular purchases via 'Subscription'.

We will turn your First Class Post order around within one working day. Thereafter for First Class Royal Mail Tracked delivery, Royal Mail aim to deliver in 24 hours. There is a small additional charge for this First Class service.

There is also is the option to select a DHL courier delivery (free on orders over £120). This is a next day service where recipients receive a tracking link via email and can opt to receive text updates too. Please enter a mobile number when you checkout to take advantage of this text service. For orders from abroad additional shipping costs are in line with U.K. Royal Mail standard charges.

You can buy a 12 months free delivery pass for just £12 which allows you to use the code RMDEL1 during checkout to get free Standard Class Royakl Mail delivery for all your orders, irrespective of value, for 12 months.

All orders will be beautifully packaged using biodegradable materials. If you have purchased a gift box, this will be wrapped in brown paper so the presentation box is kept intact. Furthermore, we offer a gift wrapping service available to add on in your basket which includes wrap, ribbon, and a personalised gift card.

Many customers opt to shop by telephone and we can be contacted on 01653 693555 if you wish to do this and create a special personalised gift package by telephone.

Please note: If you are shipping to a country outside of the UK, there may be customs charges that you need to consider before your purchase.

RETURN POLICY

We are currently unable to accept returns for our items unless they are damaged and hence unuseable.

If your order is damaged, please contact us within 14 days and we will send a replacement or offer a refund. Please get in touch with a photograph of your damaged product and we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund or replacement.

If a refund is the way forward, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Alternatively, we will send out a replacement item to be arranged with you.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your replacement product to reach you may vary.
