Argan Oil

A light, non-greasy oil which penetrates and nourishes the hair shaft, helping relieve frizziness and dryness.

Grape Seed Oil

Adds shine, tames flyaway hair and stimulates scalp circulation

Sweet Almond Seed Oil

Contains biotin which is thought to stimulate hair follicles into production of keratin to counter thinning hair

Jojoba Seed Oil

Rich in a wealth of minerals and vitamins specifically beneficial in nourishing hair, including vitamins C, B, E copper and zinc

Castor Seed Oil

Antibacterial, anti fungal, beneficial for moisturising and stimulating the scalp and blood flow to hair follicles

Rosemary Essential Oil

Traditionally used for promotion of hair growth and protection against hair loss. Research has also identified benefits in protecting against hair loss associated with male and female pattern baldness

Lavender Essential Oil

Regular application helps treat dandruff and improves hair texture by conditioning hair follicles, reducing frizz, and controlling hair fall

Our outstanding, intense and effective serum is free from palm oil, water, surfactants, artificial additives and preservatives.

How to use

1. Apply to Towel Dried Hair after washing

Apply our rich and intense products sparingly; using only a few drops of serum in the palm of your hand. Rub hands together to warm and disperse the product, then massage into freshly washed, towel dried hair. Work through the hair to reach the ends, using a couple more drops as required if your hair is long.

2. Apply as a touch-up to dry hair

Using only a drop or two in the palm of you hand, rub hands together to create a thin layer and gently glide palms over the surface of the hair to tame and control flyaways and create shine.

3. Use as a nourishing overnight treatment

Apply a few drops to dry hair, again using the palms of your hands. Work through the hair and massage the scalp with fingertips. Take good care to cover any treasured bed linen, leave overnight and then wash out in the morning.

Our serum has been formulated exclusively in-house and makes a wonderful complement to our existing suite of natural, effective haircare products. The natural, preservative free and SLS free formulation makes this product ideal for those with sensitivities or a predisposition to allergies.

Hair serum

Very heavy compared to other hair oils I have used. My hair is very dry and normally responds well to hair oils but this left my haur very lank and greasy even using a small amount.

Natural hair serum

Smells lovely but I found it a little too heavy for my hair, even just a couple of drops made my hair look greasy. I have a bob haircut which is prone to frizziness but I just found this serum too rich. I think if you have long hair or curly hair it would be ideal.

Cosy Cottage conditioner is 100% sulphate free, additive free, palm oil free, cruelty free, plastic free, suitable for vegans and totally natural. The combination of cocoa butter and sweet orange essential oil provides a gorgeous chocolatey orange scent to these little, solid conditioners.

We manufacture all our products in small, waste-free batches in the beautiful market town of Malton in Yorkshire, UK. Our packaging is either fully recyclable paper, cardboard or plant derived, including our clear bags and bubble wrap, which will compost within a year. These 15g solid conditioner roundels arrive in a compostable glassine paper bag.

We recommend you complement your conditioner bar with a bamboo comb which you can purchase separately here.

As we do not add water to any of our products, the roundel will last longer than a typical bottle of high street conditioner (15 to 20 uses per 15g roundel) . You'll find that you don't need to use much product to soften and nourish your hair - a very little goes a very long way.

This 15g solid conditioner roundel is best applied to damp hair, concentrating on the ends where dryness is most likely. Simply wet the roundel in warm water, rub onto your hands and then apply to the ends and tips of your hair, smoothing with your fingers or combing through with our bamboo wide-toothed comb. Rinse out thoroughly.

Disappointed

Unfortunately I found the conditioner to make my hair feel heavy and look greasy, so much so I had to re-wash my hair to get it out.

Best so far

It is soo difficult to find a conditioner bar that actually works and this one does! I have only used it once but my hair doesn't feel dry or waxy like with others. I think the mistake most people are making is using too much - you only need a tiny bit

Awful product

I tried the Shampoo and Conditioner bars recently and it was an awful experience. I have been using alternative natural products for over a year so don't have "build up" in my hair. The shampoo made my hair feel like a birds nest so when i used the conditioner, I started at the ends as they suggest and then worked up the hair shaft with a de-tangler. I rinsed it out for ages but it still felt heavy. When I tried to dry my hair, it wouldn't dry properly and just felt heavy and oily. I ended up going back in the shower to wash it all out with my regular shampoo and conditioner. I will not be using either the shampoo or conditioner again, very disappointing.

Too rich.

Sadly it doesn't work for me no matter how little, and because it's difficult to get a decent even spread through the hair without it concentrating too much in one place, it leaves my hair very greasy. And the shampoo bar isn't powerful enough to wash it out. So I had to use my old shampoo to get it off. This just means that my hair doesn't require conditioning. But it's still frizzy so still requires a serum instead. I've given three stars as it's good to use as a dry conditioner for the ends.

Sadly not for me

I was only able to use this once as it disintegrated in the shower. It did smell lovely but was difficult to rinse out and left a greasy residue. Perhaps is was just not suitable for my hair type.

The products are very nice but are a little smaller than i expected

Lovely smell but currently still trying to get used to it.

Soap and conditioner bars smell gorgeous but I’m still trying to get used to using it and used to my hair being cleansed properly as it’s been extremely greasy since use. I’m hoping it’s all part of the cleanse 👍. But it froths up well!

Perfect in every way

This was Xmas present for my Vegan daughter and her partner who were very pleased with it. The quality of the items was excellent ( she especially loved the lip balm). Lots of lovely products to try. The soap (body & face) feels really gentle and creamy but still leaves me feeling clean. Moisturiser rubs in well and is non greasy. All the scents smell great.

Lovely little set

Lovely set for trying out plastic free inept downside is the one thing I really wanted to try was the sweet orange moisturiser which was replaced with geranium which isn’t a scent I can use. Maybe tell us it’s being swapped and could have said. But made a nice little pot for my mum!! All round though lovely products!! Definitely will be buying again!!

Getting the wow without the woo, products that really work

📣📣I just need to do a shout out here 📣📣

Travelling for work means the need to have travel size things, often times you buy again because you might be away for three nights but only really have enough left in the travel shampoo for one more wash… the pile up of bottles, miniatures, deodorants, facial scrubs, flannels, scrubs etc just gets ridiculous.
If you’re flying… forget it, you don’t want baggage reclaim headaches, you want light, reliable, and quick.

Well the shout out is to Cosy Cottage who have excelled at creating the travel tin… the shampoo bar lathers beautifully, the conditioner bar is sparing use on the ends, the hair serum is genuinely a pea size amount, the facial wash, sisal mitt, flannel and hemp soap… amazing. Then add the natural deodorant. I’ve been Mitchum for years. Not anymore!

Stocking up when I return from my travels and never ever going back to refillable, travel size things again. Total convert and it is half the size of my wash bag, so now I can downsize all the other bits and bobs you tell yourself you can’t possibly live without. Tosh!

Mixed feelings

I bought a couple of travel soap sizes to try. One being lavender. It lathers well and is so creamy and smells delicious. Unfortunately the fragrance doesn't last after you've rinsed it off. Disappointed.

Pretty comb, not sure about the material

The shape and texture of the wood are lovely, and it does the job as a comb, which is the main thing. Now my Chinese isn't the best, but in very nice writing it does say "fine quality walnut-wood product" (in Chinese), which is kinda amusing. Now, I definitely don't think it's walnut wood—walnut wood has a very distinct pattern. I also ironically took photos of the comb on a bamboo trap I own, so perhaps bamboo can looked quite different but I'm not certain whether the comb is bamboo or not. It just gives me some questions about the sourcing of the comb. Maybe Cosy Cottage should look into their production line and verify each step. So many reviews have unexpected engravings (mine look laser-cut and are some sort of flower). I don't think any of these things are problems and they don't affect the product much, it's just that it's important for Cosy Cottage to be aware of the production line so they can verify the working conditions and ethics of each step (which I have faith they do care about). Apologies if this review sounded negative, I do like the comb, I just also think these are important notes for the company. I'll also say I got their Shea butter soap and it is lovely! I also really appreciate the minimal packaging! It's October 2024 as of writing this, so hopefully this review can be disregarded in the future :)

Lovely Bamboo Comb

Very nice bamboo comb, less hair loss and makes hair look smooth and sleek after use compared to my plastic comb, would have liked a goldfish design on it (think mine was either an octopus or jellyfish) - not sure how many different designs on them, I highly recommend the comb, which is a good price and quality and makes hair look good.
