Learn to Make 100% Soy Wax Candles — Malton, North Yorkshire
Join us in our Malton workshop for a relaxed, sociable, and hands-on soy wax candle making class. In around two hours you’ll learn everything you need to know about making beautiful, naturally fragranced container candles — and leave with at least two finished candles to take home, worth £24+ each at retail.
We start with warm drinks and cake, and we never rush — this is meant to be enjoyable and relaxing from start to finish.
What You’ll Learn & Do
- The science and craft of 100% soy wax container candle making
- How to create your own unique fragrance blend using natural essential oils
- How to pour, wick, and set your candles correctly
- How to decorate a pre-made 30cl container candle in your own personal style
- Tips and tricks for making candles at home after the workshop
What You’ll Take Home
At least two 100% soy wax container candles — one you’ve made from scratch with your own custom essential oil fragrance blend, and one you’ve decorated yourself. Both are yours to keep, gift, or enjoy at home. Plus a 10% discount voucher to use in our Cosy Cottage store on the day.

Our candle making workshop runs in the morning on the same days as our afternoon soap making workshop. Book both and join us for lunch in between on our popular Makers’ Day — a full day of crafting, learning, and great food.

Please note: If you are shipping to a country outside of the UK, there may be customs charges that you need to consider before your purchase.
RETURN POLICY
We are currently unable to accept returns for our items unless they are damaged and hence unuseable.
If your order is damaged, please contact us within 14 days and we will send a replacement or offer a refund. Please get in touch with a photograph of your damaged product and we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund or replacement.
If a refund is the way forward, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Alternatively, we will send out a replacement item to be arranged with you.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your replacement product to reach you may vary.

I had such a lovely and very enjoyable morning. I chose to make a medium candle and two tealights. There was also a pre made large candle for us to then decorate with lots of beautiful craft items to choose from. My advise, keep it simple! We had plenty of safety instructions along with a demonstration on how to make a candle. Then we all had a go, really easy to do. I also really enjoyed learning about the history of Cosy Cottage from conception to the present. Lovely teachers, very supportive and helpful and very safety concious. Also very patient, especially with me!! Plenty of drinks available and cake if you wanted some. Also an opportunity to buy a candle making kit or create your own kit. All then boxed up to take home. Very reasonably priced too. Can't wait to have a go at home, Christmas presents sorted!

Very enjoyable session with Clara at Cosy Cottage Malton. Very informative, safety conscious, plenty of time for questions as well as coffee and delicious cake. I left with 2 large candles, 1 of them decorated, 2 tealights and lots of tips and options to be able to carry on making candles at home. Great fun morning.
