Our team have been hard at work handcrafting these beautiful heart shaped clay air fresheners, the ideal repository for a few drops of our essential oils, made from steam distilled plants and fruits. Hang one in your home or car and enjoy the natural aroma and the ambiance these little beauties create. Each one comes with a 10ml bottle of the essential oil of your choice.
How it works
- Add a few drops of essential oil to the unglazed clay heart.
- Hang it from a car mirror, a wardrobe rail, a door handle or a radiator hook.
- Top it up whenever the scent starts to fade, using the 10ml dropper bottle included.
- No electricity, no flame and no aerosol, so it works anywhere you can hang it.

Lavender 10ml
One of the world's most popular oils, beautifully relaxing and calming, and traditionally used to encourage sound rest. Steam distilled from the iconic purple flower heads.
Sweet Orange 10ml
Invigorating and energising, with a fresh, uplifting aroma. Cold pressed from the skins of sweet oranges.
Geranium 10ml
Said to promote calm and comfort, with a sweet middle note aroma that is floral and playful. Steam distilled from the leaves of the geranium plant.
Tea Tree 10ml
A cleansing oil used traditionally for centuries, with a fresh, herbal aroma. A must-have in any first aid or wellbeing kit. Steam distilled from the leaves of the melaleuca plant.
Using your oils safely
These essential oils are highly concentrated, so please observe the precautions printed on the bottle and use them accordingly. Natural essential oils still contain naturally occurring fragrance allergens, so natural does not mean allergen free.
- Keep the oil and the clay heart out of reach of children and away from pets.
- Dilute in a carrier oil if you are applying any essential oil to skin.
- Avoid contact with eyes and never take the oils internally.
- Hang the clay where drips cannot fall onto polished, painted, plastic or leather surfaces.
- Store the bottle cool, dark and tightly capped.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many drops should I use?
Start with three or four drops on the clay and add more if you want a stronger scent. In a car, less is usually plenty.
How long does the fragrance last?
It depends on the oil and how warm and airy the spot is. Expect to refresh the clay every week or two, and the 10ml bottle will keep it going for a long while.
Can I change the fragrance later?
Yes. Let the clay dry out fully, then add a different oil. Traces of the previous scent may linger, so pairing similar fragrances works best.
Is it safe to hang in a car?
Yes, hang it where it will not obstruct your view or swing against the dashboard, and avoid letting oil drip onto plastic or leather trim.
Does it make a good gift?
It does. The heart shape and choice of fragrance make it a lovely small present or stocking filler for any age, and gift wrapping with a personalised message is available at checkout.
What is the clay made from?
Each heart is handcrafted from unglazed clay in our Yorkshire workshop, left porous so it absorbs and slowly releases the essential oil.

RETURN POLICY
We are currently unable to accept returns for our items unless they are damaged and hence unuseable.
If your order is damaged, please contact us within 14 days and we will send a replacement or offer a refund. Please get in touch with a photograph of your damaged product and we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund or replacement.
If a refund is the way forward, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Alternatively, we will send out a replacement item to be arranged with you.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your replacement product to reach you may vary.
The clay heart is not too big and holds the aroma from the essential oil for several days, although I would recommend only applying 1 drop as too many makes it overpowering. I have hung mine in the bedroom which I find relaxing.
The heart appears to be simple modelling clay, with a stamp on it, but at least it probably was made in Malton. The essential oils had the appearance of being a wholesale buy in a cheapish bottle. I thought I was buying something made by the seller, but apparently not. Nothing to suggest the essential oils were in any way made by Cosy Cottage.

Smell lasts a couple of minutes that's all. Dries out very easily too.
The geranium oil smells lovely. The air freshner & oil is a present for someone, so can't comment on how effective it is.
