Handmade care from our Yorkshire workshop
Our soaps, shampoo, cream and balm are handmade in small, low energy consumption and low wastage batches at our Yorkshire workshop, using ingredients sourced from UK based suppliers.
We use ingredients found in nature, without parabens, sulphates, SLS or artificial colourings. Our gentle fragrances come from essential oils made from steam distilled flowers, fruits and plants.
Our creams and balms are not diluted with separately added water, so a little goes a long way. Aloe vera contributes aqueous content, but we add no water separately.
At Cosy Cottage we do not test anything on animals nor commission third parties to do so on our behalf. We work with medical professionals, a cosmetics safety consultant and a microbiology laboratory, alongside feedback from willing friends and family.
A gift box to enjoy and reuse
Your collection is presented in an exclusive Cosy Cottage gift box designed by a local artist partner. Customers frequently reuse these attractive boxes. All our packaging is either fully recyclable cardboard or plant derived, including our clear bags and bubble wrap, which will compost within a year.
The box can be sent directly to your chosen recipient. Gift wrapping is available at checkout, with the option to add a personalised message and select a greetings card for an additional charge.

Frequently asked questions
Is this starter box vegan?
No. The Lavender and Geranium Soaps contain beeswax-derived Sodium Beeswaxate. Please check the ingredient lists for each product.
Is the shampoo suitable for people with nut allergies?
No. The shampoo contains almond oil and is not suitable for nut allergies.
Can I send it directly as a gift?
Yes. Use your recipient's delivery address. Gift wrapping and a greetings card are available for an additional charge at checkout, and you can add a personalised message.
Can the gift box be reused?
Yes. The artist-designed box can be kept and reused after you have enjoyed its contents.
DELIVERY INFORMATION
Many customers opt to shop by telephone and we can be contacted on 01653 693555 if you wish to do this and create a special personalised gift package by telephone.
Please note: If you are shipping to a country outside of the UK, there may be customs charges that you need to consider before your purchase.
RETURN POLICY
We are currently unable to accept returns for our items unless they are damaged and hence unuseable.
If your order is damaged, please contact us within 14 days and we will send a replacement or offer a refund. Please get in touch with a photograph of your damaged product and we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund or replacement.
If a refund is the way forward, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Alternatively, we will send out a replacement item to be arranged with you.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your replacement product to reach you may vary.

The products arrived beautifully packaged, the smell coming from the box Devine.
Having had issues with soaps and shampoo bars in the past I was slightly dubious, however I needn’t have been.
The products lather beautifully and leave me smelling amazing! The shampoo bar leaves my hair feeling so clean and shiny and doesn’t affect my curly hair at all!

Lots of lovely products to try. The soap (body & face) feels really gentle and creamy but still leaves me feeling clean. Moisturiser rubs in well and is non greasy. All the scents smell great.
