How we De-stress and Relax

The first Wednesday in November is Stress Awareness Day. It's a day that I think resonates with us all. We all know what it's like to experience stress of varying degrees. If stresses in life become too much and begin to overwhelm us, our mental and physical health can be impacted.
De stress
When all we can see is the dark fog of stress, it's important to take time away to relax and reset your mind. This can help to alleviate physical symptoms of stress such as headaches, tiredness or an upset stomach. This is alongside easing the mental burden of stress. These include irritability, anxiousness, depression or feelings on loneliness. If you find you are struggling with stress and can't shift the fog, speak out to a friend or your doctor or get in touch with a mental health charity such as Mind for some help.
As a business, we understand the importance of a work-life balance, particularly as many of our employees work part-time, often with other projects/work on the side. Stress Awareness Day got us chatting at HQ about our activities that help us feel a little bit more, well, us! We enjoyed exchanging our stories so much that we wanted to share them with you. Read on to find a bit more about some of our team and who knows, maybe you'll pick up some ideas for yourself to de-stress.
Val, maker, wrapper and all round good egg -  "I enjoy a walk with my little dog and a relaxing yoga session. Exercise and fresh air always help."
Shelley, our sales guru - "I destress by using a bit of CBT and tips from Eckhart Tolle. CBT makes me rationalise what's going on and The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle talks about being in the present moment. I ask myself when I'm stressed, what I'm stressed about? Is it the end of the world etc."
Jake, maker, wrapper and all round good egg - "I'll play games and talk with friends. I also enjoy a relaxing sit down with some music."
Ellie, our social media whizz - "I find myself the least stressed after a run or session of yoga. I'll get the paints out and pop an interesting podcast on and all my worries float away."
Philip, maker, wrapper and all round good egg -  "If I'm feeling stressed I'll spend an hour in the garden."
Kerstin, maker, wrapper and all round good egg - "A lovely long walk at the coast, blowing away the cobwebs and enjoying the fresh air and scenery."
Clara, our chief and brilliant founder - "There's nothing like reading a good book by the fire for me."
What do you do to relax and unwind after a stressful day? Let us know in the comments below, we'd love a bit of inspiration and always up for trying new things!
