They hand make their chocolate bars just down the road from us, in York. They, like us, use sustainable natural ingredients and are palm oil free.

We add no water to our extra long-lasting products, nor do we use any artificial colourings. Our gentle fragrances are all lovingly created from steam distilled flowers., fruits and plants. At Cosy Cottage we do not test anything on animals and we do not commission third parties to do so on our behalf. We have plenty of willing friends and family members who are more than happy to test our products themselves and we work closely with medical professionals, a cosmetics safety consultant and microbiology lab. to ensure everything is absolutely safe to use.

Our Gardeners' Delight box has been especially created with the gardeners in our lives in mind. Our supremely popular hemp and patchouli cream, containing hempseed oil, abundant in tocopherols, is the ideal standby to prevent dry, chapped hands after a hard day of digging and dibbling.

Wash and clean hands and nails then slather tired, cracked hands with hemp and patchouli cream, pop on the bamboo gloves and leave all those healing oils to do their job for 30 minutes or so, before removing the gloves and massaging any excess cream into the hands.

This sumptuous gift box contains a 120g long-lasting bar of our beautiful Seagrown branded soap alongside a 100ml tin of Seagrown hand and body cream. These are complemented by a limited edition 100% soy wax, blue glass essential oil scented candle.    

Our 100% palm oil free, Seagrown branded, kelp infused products were developed in our Yorkshire workshop and are handmade in Malton, Yorkshire from a combination of locally sourced seaweed and premium quality, natural plant oils, all of which are renowned for their skin benefits. 

Unprocessed, dried kelp, harvested by our friends at Seagrown, from the North Yorkshire coast contains the bio-active component, aloin which is also present in aloe vera and in even greater concentrations in kelp. Aloin has been cited in several studies as being helpful in regenerating the connective tissues within the skin, improving its structure and appearance and therefore counteracting the signs of ageing. Other compounds present in seaweed act as tyrosinase inhibitors and have hence been shown to have a positive impact on skin pigmentation, including smoothing pigmentation imbalances and lightening age spots. Naturally occurring polysaccharides present in kelp have been demonstrated to retain moisture and act as an outstanding skin moisturiser and humectant, to an even greater extent than the well known skincare ingredient, hyalauronic acid.

We have received a wealth of positive feedback in our trials, from eczema, rosacea and psoriasis patients about the benefits of this cream. 

These products contain no added water and no artificial foaming agents emulsifiers or surfactants, which are frequently cited in exacerbating skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. 

The gentle, unique fragrance in our Seagrown products complements the natural, fresh aroma of the kelp and is created from a unique blend of essential oils, made from steam distilled flowers , plants and fruits. No synthetic parfums are added and the products are presented in a fully recyclable packaging.

Our blue glass 100% soy wax, essential oil fragranced candle contains a similar blend of essential oils to the soap and cream and is designed to complement their fragrances and create a sense of serenity.

Our glorious, range of long-lasting and generously fragranced 100ml diffusers and 300ml candles are imbued with our exclusive essential oil blends which have been created and tested by our team in our Malton workshops.  All fragrances are made from steam-distilled plants and fruits and contain no synthetic limonoids. Each diffuser is presented with a bundle of six, fibre reeds, especially designed to prevent clogging and aid even distribution of fragrance.

Tranquility

A gloriously satisfying and exclusive blend of vetiver, grapefruit and cedarwood essential oils. The dominant fragrance, vetiver is known as 'miracle grass' or 'the oil of tranquility' and is reputed to be beneficial in soothing anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and depression.   

Each generous 100ml diffuser will last for approximately three months, at normal room temperature and in cool conditions, for longer. Each 300ml candle will burn in a draught free environment for between 30 and 40 hours.

Join us in our Malton, Navigation Wharf workshop (see below for google maps link) for a glorious, relaxing afternoon of palm oil free soap-making! Make six bars of your own signature, cold process soap to take home.

We have had outstanding feedback from past participants and are delighted to have scheduled our workshops for 2024. Due to the popularity of these workshops, early booking is recommended. 

In our spacious premises in Navigation Wharf, Yorkersgate, next to the Talbot Hotel, Malton, we are very happy to be able to host up to ten participants, to make six, lovely bars of palm oil free soap, each, bearing your own signature fragrance, made from a blend of essential oils. 

You will make your palm oil free soap from vegetable oils and waxes using the cold process soap-making method. No melt-and-pour synthetic soap bases here! Your will then personalise your soap using dried flowers, fruit, exfoliants and fragrances.

These workshops make superb gifts. If you would like a card to be sent to the recipient, please select your Gift Card and add your message at checkout. Please ensure that we have the address for the recipient if you would like the card to be sent directly 

The morning sessions will start at 10.00 a.m. and finish around noon and  afternoon sessions will start at 2pm and finish at around 4.00pm (depending on how quickly we work - we do not like to rush, it's meant to be relaxing!)

This beautiful and useful hand-tied bundle includes three of our favourite and best-selling soaps, which are handmade in our Malton workshop, using processes which consume minimal energy and produce very little waste. Every item is 100% palm oil free, SLS free and artificial additive free. We source ingredients locally wherever possible and our cadre of trusted suppliers all share our sustainability ethos.

All our fragrances are created from essential oils, made from steam distilled plants, flowers and fruits. Nothing is ever tested on animals and we do not commission third parties to test on our behalf. Our packaging is plastic free and can all be composted, reused or recycled.

Our bijou Cosy Spa Candles are an ideal treat for a cosy evening or luxurious interlude. Dim the lights, grab a mug (or glass) of something lovely, pop on some favourite music and enjoy up to three hours of you-time, imbued in our delightful Exclusive Cosy Spa Essential Oil Blends. 

Each 100% soy wax candle is attractively presented in a robust, scandi-style, clear glass holder which can be cleaned and re-used once the burn is complete (3.5 hour burn time).

A truly happy, uplifting and exclusive blend of orange, geranium and eucalyptus essential oils. Aptly named Inspiration due to the dominant eucalyptus fragrance, widely known for its beneficial mind clearing, relaxing and therapeutic properties. 

Composure

A supremely calming, complex blend of geranium, lavender, lemongrass, lemon, patchouli and orange essential oils. All of these natural essential oils are known for their calming properties and they incorporate elements recognised as being beneficial in the treatment of depression, the promotion of mindfulness and the relief of insomnia.

Serenity

A uniquely serene and soothing, exclusive blend of earthy cedarwood, rosemary, sandalwood and lemongrass essential oils.  This fresh, delightful and serene blend will bring a fresh and uplifting fragrance to your home, redolent of our Yorkshire countryside and coast.  

Peace

Based on the same complex component oils as our Composure blend but this time with a dominant, woody patchouli fragrance, this exclusive blend of patchouli, orange,  lavender, lemongrass, geranium and lemon essential oils is calming and uplifting whilst bringing the dominant peace-giving qualities of its major component, patchouli.   

Tranquility

A gloriously satisfying and exclusive blend of vetiver, grapefruit and cedarwood essential oils. The dominant fragrance, vetiver is known as 'miracle grass' or 'the oil of tranquility' and is reputed to be beneficial in soothing anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and depression.   

Balance

Our signature blend of bergamot and geranium. Already the most popular of our herb garden soaps and now lovingly recreated for our tea light collection. A perfect, balanced pairing of the exotic citrus bergamot, renowned for relieving stress and traditional 'English country garden' geranium for calming and tranquility
